YOUNG CHILDREN AND LANGUAGE: An introductory training on Language and Literacy in the Early Years

October 26 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Come explore how educators can support children’s innate ability to learn and use words, to understand symbols and books and to “read” their world.

TOGETHER WE WILL….

-Learn about language acquisition

-Share strategies to support oral language development with
infants, toddlers and preschoolers

– Discuss ways to engage children in meaningful
conversations

-Talk about the relationship between play and learning

– Consider our own use of language and its impact on
children

-Uncover innovative ways to support literacy development in
ECE environments

-Review current ECE tools (such as CA Foundations, DRDP,
the CA Curriculum Framework, CLASS etc.) as they relate
to language and literacy in the early years

Date: October 26, 2019
Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm (Lunch provided)
Location: 1390 Market Street Suite 1125. (You will be asked to
sign in with the security before entering to the 11th floor)
