Supporting Children’s Active Play for Brain Development and Learning-ONLINE EVENT
May 4 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
As you reflect on your work as a teacher, think about how often the focus of your interactions with children involves negotiating how they are using their bodies. How often do you find yourself saying, “be careful, “slow down, use your walking feet, feet stay on the floor, that’s not a climbing place”. Join the presenters to study how children show us they seek movement all the time for brain development and learning. Review current research that suggests that children’s active play is more than just getting their wiggles out and developing their muscles and motor skills. Study early childhood environments and experiences that support children’s movement and active play, both indoors and outdoors.

“I think our staff really benefited from all the training. All the trainings allowed the staff to explore and think differently and keep up-to-date….”
