The Commmunity of Practice gathering will off er attendees a chance to learn about
assistive technology (AT). AT is any object or system that increases or maintains
the capabilities of people with disabilities. One AT technique is off ering children
choices through choice boards. We will learn through hands-on material making of
choice boards you will develop with our support or that others have created.
Feel free to bring a jump drive with photos that you would like to develop into a
choice board – or just come to learn and off er support and ideas. In collaboration
with teachers, coaches and our AT specialist, we’ll brainstorm ideas so that you can
walk away with a choice board to use in your program.
This event will include a tour of the AT lab at Support for Families.
